STEFANEL S/S 2012 ECO-CASHMERE CAPSULE COLLECTION

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Stefanel present its Spring/Summer 2012 Eco-Cashmere Capsule Collection during Milan fashion
week.

“The Stefanel Eco-Cashmere Capsule Collection is the result of the natural combination between the
long Stefanel knitwear tradition and the wish of a modern interpretation of it.
Choosing eco-products is an easy way to help to protect ourselves and the environment. For these
reasons, wearing eco-clothing has become a hot trend in the fashion world and I am sure that Stefanel
Eco-Cashmere Capsule Collection will be very successful as we are proposing high quality products
interpreted in a fashionable way and at a reasonable price.”

Giuseppe Stefanel, Stefanel Spa Chairman

The collection has been inspired by the seventies and by Bianca Jagger's style and personality. It is
composed of 25 special garments designed to be worn besides the conventional ways and has been
conceived to create a total look that includes sweaters, cardigans, tops, pants and even sensual
dresses. The final result is an easy elegance, glamorous but also very comfortable. Clothing have
been dyed with eco-colours using the tie&dye process. Some pieces have been realized with a net or
ribbed texture, some others have been designed as a mix of overlaps, asymmetries, drapes, which
create a final balanced effect, wearable and original at the same time; the shapes are soft but sensual.
Layering, colour blocking and tie&dye are the guidelines of the collection.

Not only classic items, but also sensual and very feminine pieces were created thanks to the fluid
material that softly wraps the feminine body, for a modern interpretation of the cashmere.
The thin and extremely soft eco-cashmere is a precious and fluid yarn for every season.

STEFANEL S/S 2012 COLLECTION

Friday, July 8, 2011

The Stefanel Spring Summer 2012 Collection takes inspiration from Brigitte Bardot whose relaxed elegance conveys the free, chic and sensual attitude proper to the Stefanel woman.
The result is a collection combining a series of simple and easy garments with a range of stronger pieces with sophisticated manufacture and details. It is a season of contradictions: heavy vs light, see-through vs dense, bright vs mat. The contemporary look merges very different worlds as the sport, the formal, the denim, the knitwear, the preppy and the masculine one for the final effect which is very balanced and customized.

Collection colours cover all neutral nuances, from beige through camel up to bright and strong colours as emerald green, orange and yellow. Most important are Jacquard, patterns and colour block. Printed foulards go over T-shirts and tops with very fluent lines. Colour and pattern matchings are clean and strong creating a great-impact effect in line with current fashion trends.
Fabrics and yarns are distinguished by an additional improvement in quality. Precious fibres like silk, very delicate cotton and light cashmere are employed. The spring-summer 2012 features a new-looking cotton/polyester for innovative and modern suits. Among the new entries and must-have of the collection there is the denim T-shirt to go over shorts, skirts, sweatshirts and trousers.
The “knit-denim” reflects perfectly Stefanel’s ability to reinterpret, in a modern way and with a special attention to research, its role as knitwear manufacturer leader. Knitwear piece is intended to be not only the classic sweater: on the contrary it can be worn in various ways for a total look which is convenient, chic and sensual at the same time.
The effect is, as usual, to put contrasts together as brightness and opacity, thickness and lightness, three-dimensionality and flatness as mat or jacquard.

Accessories and bijoux are made with ever-increasing attention to the smallest details and become, collection after collection, an essential part of the look. Bags and shoes reflect the current fashion trends. Besides classical colours as black and leather brown, there are also fluorescent coloured accessories which confer each look something special and strong. Bijoux continue to be, thanks to their shapes and material, a key accessory which completes each look.

STEFANEL WOMEN’S FW 2011/2012 COLLECTION

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

The brand roots are the focus of the Stefanel Fall Winter 2011/2012 collection.
The lightness of the sixties, the eccentric chic of the seventies and the formal look of the nineties inspired the style of this collection. The collection matches simple and easy pieces to more fashionable ones, with sophisticated finishings and particular details. The balanced mix of apparently different worlds like sports, folk, uniform and equestrian one gives to the look a modern taste and an elegant sensuality.

The colour tones are neutral: from beige to camel, from grey to black and blue. There are also touches of strong colours like yellow and light blue that illuminate the chromatic range which includes also unusual dark colours like green and purple.

Fabrics and yarns have been mixed, playing on contrasts to create an always balanced final result. Besides wool, important and three-dimensional textures like tweed and jacquard have been used. The juxtaposition between opaque-polish and thickness-lightness has been realized matching light and soft materials like silk and transparent georgette. Many fabrics present sophisticated finishings such as details, colour block, embroidery, double face effect, leather details. The knitting yarns are always very light and high-quality even when the effect is thick. Cashmere, Merino, Alpaca and Mohair wools have been used.

Accessories and bijoux, made with a mix of materials and cultural contaminations, give colour and enhance the personality of every look.  To complete the looks also big size bags and fashionable high heels shoes.

MADE FOR STEFANEL

Monday, March 1, 2010

In 2005, Made was started by Cristina Cisilino and her partner Gerson Barnett who, inspired by a love of Africa and fashion,
wanted to create gorgeous designer products while improving the lives of impoverished communities in Africa.

Cristina and Gerson Barnett work from the Made factory in Nairobi where they employ 65 members of staff
Using the principles of fair trade, Made train artisans in new skills along with setting them up with their own bank account,
decent wages, a housing and travel allowance and excellent working conditions. Made strongly believes that the 'trade
not aid' ethos is the most effective way to support struggling African communities.
Materials for Made products are responsibly and ethically sourced in Africa and the majority of the materials are
recycled - for example brass from door handles, taps and padlocks and glass from old bottles.

To date Made has worked on accessories projects for several design houses including Nicole Farhi, Whistles and Kate
Moss for Top Shop. The company also commissions work from established designers. Pippa Small and Natalie Dissel
have both designed collections for Made Boutique. Made For Stefanel is the company’s most recent project.
Designed by Vicki Sarge of Erickson Beamon, for Stefanel, this is the company’s first project for a major Italian
fashion house. The Made For Stefanel collection will be available in all major Stefanel outlets and stores from March 2010.
Mr Stefanel: “I am thrilled to be working with Made on this collection. As a design project it is exciting.

As a humanitarian project it is hugely satisfying. The jewellery perfectly complements the Stefanel look and I look forward
to making it an ongoing part of the collection”.

Cristina Cisilino: “This is such an exciting project. It is endlessly inspiring and satisfying for me to see how the vision of
jewellery designers who are accustomed to the work of the finest craftsmen can be realised by the artisans in Africa.
No creative compromise is sought or expected. And the product appeals instantly to a sophisticated international customer”.
